Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A purchase does not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited. Open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. States, D.C., and Puerto Rico, 18 years or older. Internet access is required.

Entry Period/How to Enter:
The Philips Norelco “Hall of Fame” Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 PM Eastern Time (“ET”) on May 14, 2010 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on June 20, 2010 (the “Entry Period”). Visit www.norelcomvp.com (the “Website”) during the Entry Period and (a) agree to these Official Rules and Philips Norelco terms of use and privacy policy; (b) follow the online instructions to complete all required fields to register on the Website and enter the sweepstakes; and (c) submit a Hall of Fame nomination in accordance with the requirements described in these Official Rules. You will receive one entry into the sweepstakes drawing for your submission of a Hall of Fame nomination. You submit a Hall of Fame nomination by providing a stated reason for a father to be inducted into the “Philips Norelco Dad Hall of Fame.” Your entry consists of a written explanation, up to a limit of 127 characters. You may also submit a photo, but a photo upload is not required for you to receive the sweepstakes entry.

You can receive additional sweepstakes entries by visiting the Website each day, and share your "Hall of Fame" submission via share mechanisms provided on your plaque. In order to be eligible for additional entries, you must be logged into the site and your "Hall of Fame" submission has to have acceptable content (as described in "Hall of Fame" Submission Requirements and Restrictions section below). Limit one (1) additional entry per person per e-mail address per day. Hall of Fame submissions must be shared via share mechanisms listed on your plaque to be an eligible entry. Prizes will be awarded by random drawing conducted on or about 6/30/10.

Prizes:
Grand Prize:
Four (4) Grand Prize Winners will each receive a grand prize package: a trip for four (4) to the Professional Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony of their individual choice within the U.S. or Canada. Selected induction must take place by 8/31/11. Each prize package includes round trip coach airfare for four (4), two (2) hotel room accommodations (2 nights, double occupancy), and transportation from nearest destination airport to hotel. (ARV of each: $5,000) or option of cash alternative of $4,000.

Secondary Prizes: Ten (10) secondary prize winners will each receive one $200 gift certificate redeemable at the Steiner Sports (ARV: $200).

Total ARV of all prizes: $22,000.

ALL EXPENSES, TAXES & COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH RECEIPT OR USE OF ALL PRIZES NOT SET FORTH HEREIN ARE SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. NO PRIZE SUBSTITUTION PERMITTED BY WINNER UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED. SPONSOR AWARDS PRIZES SUBJECT ONLY TO MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY, WITHOUT WARRANTY BY SPONSOR OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITHOUT LIMITATION.

Eligibility:
Open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. States, D.C., and Puerto Rico, 18 years or older. Employees of Sponsor, Administrator, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (“Affiliate Entities”) and their immediate families are not eligible.

Prize Winner Verification and Conditions:
Prize winners must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility & liability/publicity release within 10 days of first attempted notification. Tennessee residents need not sign publicity release. Failure to provide signed documents will result in forfeiture of prizes. ALL EXPENSES, TAXES & COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH RECEIPT OR USE OF ALL PRIZES NOT SET FORTH HEREIN ARE SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. Prizes are not transferable. If any prize becomes unavailable, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute another prize of equal or greater value. No prize substitutions permitted by winner unless otherwise indicated.

The actual value of the Grand Prize will vary depending on winner's city of departure, destination, and timing of trip. If the actual value turns out to be less than the stated ARV, the difference will not be awarded in cash. Selected airline and other elements of grand prize are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Grand prize trip must be taken within the U.S. or Canada in between August 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011. Certain restrictions, exact travel dates and arrangements subject to availability. Grand Prize include coach–class airfare. Winner and his/her travel companions are responsible for costs of travel to major U.S. airport with service to destination. The winner's travel companion must be 18 years of age or older, or if the companion is a minor, the winner must be the minor's parent or legal guardian. Winner and guests must travel together on the same itinerary and possess all required travel documents, including visas and valid passports, if and as applicable. Airfare does not include government taxes or facilities charges. Ground transportation, tax, gratuities, personal expenses, cost of checked bags and all other expenses incurred on the trip that are not specifically provided for herein, including but not limited to additional ground transportation, airport taxes or fees, gratuities and any other incidental expenses, are solely the responsibility of the applicable prize winner and his or her guests. If the selected induction ceremony is postponed or cancelled for any reason after travel is arranged, balance of trip will be awarded in full satisfaction of prize, and no additional prize will be awarded.

Prize winners and their guests must sign eligibility and liability documents prior to any travel documents being released. Sponsor reserves the right to structure travel route in its sole discretion. In the event a trip winner or their guest engages during the trip in behavior that (as determined by Sponsor in Sponsor's sole discretion) is obnoxious or threatening, illegal or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate the trip early, in whole or in part, and send the winner and/or his or her guest home with no further compensation.

In compliance with Internal Revenue Service regulations, Sponsor will send a Form 1099–MISC to any winner receiving a prize valued in excess of $600 (USD), which requires disclosure to Sponsor of winner's social security number. Winner remains solely responsible for paying all federal and other taxes in accordance with the laws that apply in winner's state of residence.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a potential winner based on an e–mail address, the winner will be the authorized account holder of the e–mail address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e–mail address by an Internet access provider, on–line service provider or other organization (e.g. business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e–mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e–mail address or phone number. Proof of being the authorized account holder may be required.

    “HALL OF FAME” SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS:

Entrants agree that the “Hall of Fame” Submission shall not contain, include or involve any of the following:

  • Obscenity;
  • Crude, vulgar or offensive language;
  • Violence;
  • Explicit sexual language;
  • Illegal drug or alcohol references;
  • Unauthorized trademarks and copyrighted material;
  • Social security numbers, phone numbers, personal addresses or any personal, identifiable information;
  • Website or web page links;
  • Derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups, humiliation of other people (publicly or otherwise), any assault or threatening of others;
  • Trespass or the violation of other people's rights or property;
  • Illegal (e.g., discriminatory, harassing) or inappropriate activity, behavior or conduct (e.g., inflicting emotional distress);
  • Conduct or activities in violation of these Official Rules; or
  • Any other content that is or could be considered inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.

All “Hall of Fame” Submissions become the property of Philips Electronics North America Corporation. Entrants agree to irrevocably assign to Sponsor and its representatives, affiliates and licensees, in whole or in part, all right, title and interest in the “Hall of Fame” Submission including, without limitation, all intellectual property rights therein, for use in any and all media whether now known or hereafter devised, including, without limitation, the unconditional right to exhibit, broadcast, copy, reproduce, encode, compress, encrypt, incorporate data into, edit, rebroadcast, transmit, record, publicly perform, create derivative works of, distribute and synchronize in time related to visual elements, and/or otherwise exploit and exercise all other rights of ownership in the “Hall of Fame” Submission, in perpetuity, anywhere in the universe, including, but not limited to, the right to make any and all uses thereof, or for purposes of advertising or trade without any compensation to entrant. Entrants agree to execute any documents or agreements required by Sponsor to perfect Sponsor's ownership and other right in and to the “Hall of Fame” Submission, without further cost to Sponsor.

Sponsor is under no obligation to use the “Hall of Fame” Submission for any purpose. Entrants waive any right to inspect or approve uses of the “Hall of Fame” Submission.

All Entries and “Hall of Fame” Submissions will be reviewed for content eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Entries containing prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate will be removed from the website. Sponsor makes the final determination as to what Entries are eligible to be available for sharing and/or posted to the website.

Entrant agrees that Sponsor and Affiliate Entities are not responsible for any unauthorized use of “Hall of Fame” Submission by third parties.

“Hall of Fame” Submission must be the original work of the entrant, may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity. If a “Hall of Fame” Submission contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant, and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the “Hall of Fame” Submission, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the use and exhibition of the “Hall of Fame” Submission by Sponsor in the manner set forth in these Official Rules, including, without limitation, name and likeness permissions from any person who appears in or is identifiable in the “Hall of Fame” Submission on a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide and sublicensable, and royalty–free basis. Sponsor reserves the right to request proof of these permissions in a form acceptable to Sponsor from any entrant at any time. By submitting a “Hall of Fame” Submission, entrant warrants and represents that he/she and any persons described or who are identifiable in the “Hall of Fame” Submission consent to the submission and use of the “Hall of Fame” Submission in the Promotion and to its use as otherwise set forth herein.

Sponsor is not obligated to, use, publish, display or broadcast any of the “Hall of Fame” Submissions submitted; provided however that each entrant acknowledges that Sponsor will rely on such entrant's agreement and compliance with these Official Rules when entrant submits or attempts to submit the “Hall of Fame” Submission.

Sponsor reserves the right to reject any “Hall of Fame” Submission that it deems, in its sole discretion, to violate any of the policies of Philips Norelco's Terms of Use or the terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules. Sponsor may modify or edit any materials related to a Promotion entry or request entrants to do so, so that such materials meet such guidelines. By submitting a “Hall of Fame” Submission in connection with this Promotion, entrants grant to Sponsor and its affiliated companies, the right, except where prohibited by law, to use entrant's name, likeness, picture, address (state), “Hall of Fame” Submission and written statements, for advertising and promotional purposes in promoting or publicizing the “Hall of Fame” Submission, Sponsor and its products or services, without compensation, notification or permission. Entrants shall have no right of approval, no claim to compensation, and no claim (including, without limitation, claims based on invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity) arising out of any use, blurring, alteration, or use in composite form of entrants name, likeness, picture, address (state), voice, biographical information, “Hall of Fame” Submission and written and oral statements. The rights granted under this paragraph shall extend to Sponsor and their respective affiliated companies with respect to all entrants in the Promotion, including the entrants who are selected as the Grand prize winners and those entrants who are not selected as prize winners. Sponsor is under no obligation to use the “Hall of Fame” Submission for any purpose. Entrants waive any right to inspect or approve uses of the “Hall of Fame” Submission.

Additional Limitations:
By entering, participants (a) agree to be bound by the official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which are final and binding in all respects; (b) agree to release Sponsor, Administrator, prize provider, the Affiliate Entities and their employees and agents from any and all liability, loss, damage or injury resulting from participation in this promotion or awarding, receipt, possession use and/or misuse of any prize awarded herein and acknowledge that Sponsor, and its employees and agents have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize including, but not limited to, its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose; and (c) consent to use of his/her name, photograph and/or likeness for advertising and promotional purposes in connection with this promotion without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Internet:
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or terminate the promotion should a virus, bugs or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor corrupt the administration or security of the promotion. In such event, the prize will be awarded by random drawing from among eligible entries received up to the date/time of corruption or modification, to the extent feasible. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, or misdirected entries; computer system, equipment or program malfunctions, or other errors; failures or delays in computer transmissions or network connections; damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation; or for any other technical problems related to web site entries. Sponsor is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the promotion, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in the promotion. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH OFFENDER TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Marketing Preferences:
By submitting a complete entry, you will have made marketing preferences noted to Sponsor, and may be contacted by Sponsor in accordance with these preferences. Upon receipt of any Sponsor contact, you may opt out of future contacts, and you will remain eligible to win the prizes.

Individual Entry Only:
Every entry must be manually keystroked and entered by an individual entrant. Automated submission of entries (including but not limited to entries made using any script, macro, bot or sweepstakes service) will be disqualified and transmissions from any related e–mail or IP addresses may be blocked. Sponsor may reject any entry it believes is the result of fraud or was submitted in violation of the official rules. A “screen shot” is not evidence of winning a prize.

Disputes:
This promotion is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Connecticut, without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Promotion, participants agree that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Connecticut having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will participants be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages, including attorneys' fees, other than participant's actual out–of–pocket expenses (e.g. costs associated with entering), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
