Online Trivia Contest Overview:
After completing registration and/or login, entrants will be prompted to play the "Philips Norelco Trivia Contest". Each week during the Entry Period, you can go to the Website to enter the Contest and also receive entries into the sweepstakes drawing. From the beginning through December 28, 2009, weeks are measured from Monday at 12:00:01 PM through Monday at 11:59:59 AM. The last week runs from Monday December 28, 2009 at 12:00:01 PM to Sunday January 3, 2010 at 11:59:59 PM. You can return to the Website once per week to play the trivia contest. The Contest requires you to correctly answer seven (7) timed trivia questions. You will have twenty (20) seconds to answer each trivia question. If you answer any of the seven (7) questions incorrectly, the game will end. If you answer all seven (7) questions correctly, you will receive one entry into that week's random weekly drawing for the chance to be deemed a trivia finalist, and flown to New York to compete in the Philips Norelco Trivia Bowl at ESPN Zone in New York City. One (1) trivia finalist will be randomly selected each week, for seven (7) weeks during the Entry Period, from the pool of all entrants who correctly answered all seven (7) questions for that week. In addition, one (1) Wild Card trivia finalist will be randomly selected at the end of the Entry Period from a pool of all entrants who correctly answered every trivia question for every week of the Entry Period, for a total of eight (8) finalists who will compete in the Philips Norelco Trivia Bowl. All finalists must be available to travel to New York City from 1/11/10 to 1/13/10. If a finalist(s) is not available, an alternate finalist(s) will be randomly selected from a pool of all entrants, not previously selected, who correctly answered all trivia questions. Sponsor also reserves the right to select an alternate finalist in the event of last minute cancellations or disqualifications in its sole discretion. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible trivia submissions received each week.
Second Chance Sweepstakes Drawing:
Regardless of whether you correctly answer any trivia questions, each time you take the weekly quiz (limit once per week) you will receive one entry (per week) into a random drawing, for a maximum of seven (7) entries, for a chance to win one (1) of 50 sweepstakes secondary prizes. Secondary prize winners will be randomly drawn at the end of the promotion. Odds of winning secondary prizing depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Philips Norelco Trivia Bowl Overview:
All eight (8) finalists will compete in the Philips Norelco Trivia Bowl, to be held at ESPN Zone in New York City on 1/13/10, for the Grand Prize. The Trivia Bowl will consist of three (3) rounds. The object of the Trivia Bowl is to achieve the most yardage by answering questions correctly to advance to the next round until a Winner is determined. Players will achieve yardage by correctly answering football trivia questions. Before reading each question, the host will reveal how many yards the correct answer is worth (i.e. increments of 5, 10, and 15 yards). Score will be kept on a large board that resembles a football field with a game piece representing each player. Each player's football starts at the 20-yard line and the object is to get to the end zone (80 yards down the field). Each player will stand at a podium with an electronic lockout buzzer. The first player to buzz in and answer correctly will have his/her football moved commensurate with the pre-announced yardage value.
Trivia Questions
Questions will be classified as easy, medium and hard. Easy questions will be worth five (5) yards. Medium questions will be worth ten (10) yards. Hard questions will be worth fifteen (15) yards.
Sponsor reserves the right to modify, alter, or change the format of the Trivia Bowl in any and all respects, including but not limited to selection of trivia questions, trivia format, points/yardage values, degree of difficulty of questions, and winner/prize selection process, in its sole discretion.
Round One
Round One will feature two (2) games with four (4) players competing in each game. Players for each game will be randomly selected prior to the start of the Trivia Bowl. The first two (2) players in each game to reach the end zone will advance to Round Two.
Round Two
Round Two will feature two (2) games with two (2) players competing in each game. Players once again start at the 20-yard line (yards earned in previous rounds do not apply). All game play, timing and scoring will be conducted as in Round One. At the end of Round Two, there will be two (2) players left.
Round Three
Round Three is the final round. All game play, timing and scoring will be conducted as in the previous rounds. The first player to reach the end zone will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner.
